Alex Rigby
Hi! My name is Alex and this is my website. I am a feature film Producer who just so happens to be still in university! I have spent the last 5 years developing myself within the film industry with production roles spreading from a humble Production Assistant, all the way up to now where I am producing my second feature film!

As well as filmmaking I am now the Host of the Pop-Up Podcast. The podcast focuses on the creative industry and how COVID-19 has affected us.

I have developed a love and passion for Producing over the last few years and I am always looking to collaborate with new faces so please if you feel I am the right person for you, drop me a message via the contact page!

A 1950's Murder Mystery. The unlikely duo of an injured soldier and a police officer, take it upon themselves to solve the murder of Captain Stanley at the Lawrence estate.

A hard-hitting drama about an aging rock musician reconnecting with his son after 30 years. This is the first feature film I have produced. Shot during the COVID-19 crisis and is currently in post-production with an expected release of 2023.

COVID-19, unfortunately, robbed me of the short film that I was developing for my final project at BCU. However, despite the challenges that were put forward, The Pop-Up Podcast was born!
The Path
Micro Short Film April 2020

This micro short started out as a simple lighting test for some new equipment. It ended up being a cool 90 second short about a young man prepping for his final fight.
Slinky Productions
Production Assitant 2020-2021
I worked at Slinky while at BCU as a Production Assistant. While I was there I worked with countless clients such as Ramboll, Birmingham City Council, Stagecoach and Highways England. My time at Slinky was beyond valuable and allowed me to develop myself as an industry professional.
Knowing Grandad

Knowing Grandad was the first project I have written for. A story of an old man coming out as gay to his family. What started out as what was supposed to be my short film directorial debut ended up being a side project while I worked at Slinky Productions.

In conjunction with my longtime colaborator Flynn Burkett, we helped a young filmmaker create his proof of concept piece for a feature film he wants to develop. I also served as an onset Camera Operator.

Electric Swing Circus commissioned me to create a music video for an EP. What came of this was one of the most memorable shoots I have ever managed, recording the band live on stage at their own music festival, Swingamajig!
In Need of Adventure

In Need Of Adventure follows the journey of David and a teddy bear which he finds on his travels. A short film shot in Leicester where I had my first gig as a script supervisor.
The Diskery: In Conversation
Documentary May 2018

This project was my first documentary. I dove into the world of records at the Diskery in Birmingham, the oldest record shop in England! What started out as a history lesson eventually became a look into the lives of The Oracle and The Owner, Liam and Lee.
